Brian Allen Smith, 63, of Cambridge, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Hammond Henry Hospital- Emergency Department, Geneseo. A private funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Dr. Christopher Ritter will officiate. Brian was born January 6, 1958, the son of Carl and Mary (Schneider) Smith, in Kewanee, IL. He graduated from JD Darnell High School, class of 1976. He then went on to serve an apprenticeship for tool and die making for four years. On October 22, 1983, he married Sandy Rhoden at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo. He was employed by Schebler Heating & Air, Bettendorf. Brian was a member of the UAW, very active in Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, NRA, and the North American Hunter’s Association. He was an avid outdoors enthusiast, and craftsman with both wood and metal.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mary; loving wife, Sandy; son, Jared Smith, Moline; daughter, Jesse (Frank Jr.) Levan, Washington; grandchildren, Logan Smith, Landon Smith, Levi Levan, and Liam Levan; sisters, Deb (Ken) Clemmons, Geneseo, and Patricia (Mike) Rusk, Geneseo.
